Freelance Strategist

Geneva

To support our team, Base Geneva is actively seeking a qualified Freelance Strategist, on an ongoing basis. 

Your role will span both the day-to-day and the definition phase of a project. On the day-to-day side, you'll contribute to naming, copywriting, and content across a range of projects and pitches. On the definition side, you'll lead together with the team the analysis, synthesis, and research needed to distill a brand's north star and personality, and translate it into a differentiating brand story everyone can relate to, shaping the narrative, positioning, mission, vision, values, and tone of voice that reveal a brand's uniqueness and jump-start the creative phase. You'll also work with the team to help craft strategic proposals for new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition phase of a project (analysis, synthesis, research) to distill a brand's north star and personality.
  • Shape narrative, positioning, mission, vision, values, and tone of voice.
  • Support day-to-day strategic and content needs across projects: naming, copywriting, pitch materials.
  • Contribute to strategic proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with designers and project managers to bring strategy to life.

 

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in brand strategy, ideally at an agency or creative studio.
  • A strong writer, equally comfortable moving between big-picture strategic thinking and day-to-day content work.
  • Able to connect brand thinking to communication, activation, and pitch work.
  • Broad general knowledge, with a strong ability to dig up references and conduct research.
  • Strong visual literacy and a broad knowledge of art, history, and sociology.
  • Deep understanding of the contemporary world and its challenges.
  • Open-mindedness. Curious. Creative.
  • Collaborative, rigorous, and comfortable working autonomously on a freelance basis.
  • Fluent French and English are a must
